You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby, You're gonna die!

In July 1987 L.A. based rock band, Guns N' Roses released their debut album "Appetite for Destruction", and completely surprised every record company out there who had refused to bother with them for the past 2 years.
After trying out the "Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll" party-anthem lifestyle other rock bands were glamorizing at the time, Guns N' Roses realized that this wasn't the kind of approach or sound they wanted for themselves and decided to tell the story of the LA music scene the way they truly saw and lived it. This meant; poverty, crime, drug addiction, alcoholism and prostitution, presented with a "fuck off, nobody cares"-attitude like no other. This put together with rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin's song writing ability, Axl Rose's screeching vocals and Slash on lead guitar shooting out guitar licks like he was firing off a machine gun, is a golden lineup when backed by Duff's bass and Adler's drums. The combination of everything couldn't be better and together they tore out the guts of the LA rock scene and smeared it all down on wax.
The album itself takes hold of you in an instant with the opener "Welcome to the Jungle" and pulls you through all the darkest alleys of urban LA, with a sound that combines elements of heavy metal, punk rock, hard rock, and blues-rock all at once and then throws you back out after 54 minutes at the end of "Rocket Queen", leaving you with only one desire; "MORE!".

"Appetite for Destruction" is possibly the grittiest, darkest, most hateful and rude album to ever sell more than 28 million records worldwide. However all the darkness here is based on experiences these five members have had living in LA, which ultimately is what gives this album its unique pure and honest feel. This along with their incredible talent is what makes this one of the greatest rock albums to ever be released. There is no way anyone can deny that.
